PAINTED WORKS

At the intersection of photography and fine art, being multidisciplinary, my work centers Black subjects through an intimate, layered creative process. I begin with the lens, capturing powerful, personal portraits of Black individuals in their full complexity and grace and then reimagine those photographs as paintings.

My practice is both visual storytelling and cultural preservation, transforming fleeting moments into enduring images that honor Black presence, identity, and spirit. Each painting begins as a photograph, a document of reality, and then becomes something more, a canvas where memory, emotion, and imagination converge. This crossover between mediums not only places me in the multidisciplinary space, but allows my subjects the same notion.
