The Self-Portrait.

My self-portraiture is a space where I reclaim authorship of how I am seen and remembered. I have found that I am the subject I know best. By positioning myself both in front of and behind the camera, I create images that are about presence and a deeply intimate exploration of self. I approach these portraits through creative concepts and stylized poses that often draw on my background in dance. The body then becomes a language expounding upon my existence within art and image.
